John Turcott –

I apologize for the difficulties you reported having at the time you were attempting to cancel your hosting services for the site wocd-rom.itctv.com – however, upon examining our records, sir, I have found that your site was actually cancelled 1/30/2003 at 5:37:36 PM and, at that time, all outstanding charges on the account were cleared. The account has not been billed since.

Meridian One Technologies was solely in charge of providing hosting services for your company’s website. From the beginning, we had arrangements with another company, End70 Corporation, to provide for sales and support of both the ITC product and hosting services at ITCTV.com. Employees of Meridian One Technologies never made any sales calls to your home – if you were contacted by a representative attempting to sell products or services under the Internet Treasure Chest brand, the representative you spoke with was from End70 Corporation.

You stated: “once we received the product, you had no support”

I apologize for this inconvenience – End70 was initially contracted to provide support for the hosting service, however, we have since annulled our relationship with that company in favor of providing our own support. Our current customers expect an issue response-time of less than 2 business days by e-mail or phone call.

Additionally: “the ‘quality items’ you offered looked more like they belonged in a dollar store”

The Online Product Warehouse is a separate company from Meridian One Technologies. Any issues with products offered by the Online Product Warehouse should be addressed to the warehouse’s support staff – merchants are not required to use Online Product Warehouse items, as the option always exists for ITCTV merchants to sell their own products (this is especially useful for those that have unique products to sell).

Finally, you stated: “We had to tell your idiots more than 8 different times, ‘the product had been returned, and we are not interested.’”

As you were informed by e-mail, the package and materials you received by mail and our hosting services were each considered separate transactions. Our terms and conditions of service (which may be viewed online at http://www.itctv.com/terms.htm) were presented to you when you initially signed up for service at http://www.itctv.com (note: acknowledgement of the Terms and Conditions of Service is required before the system will process an activation request). Please consider, in particular, Term Termination (Section 7), Termination by You (Paragraph C):

“You may terminate this Agreement immediately for any reason at any time by going to http://www.itctv.com/cancelaccount.asp. You will remain liable for the full charge for the period during which you terminated this Agreement and for all usage-based fees through the effective date for termination of this Agreement.”

As you apparently did not retain the information which you had inputted into the system to create your account, your cancellation requests must have failed to process correctly. Fortunately for you, our representatives took this into account back in January when they assisted you in canceling the account and refunding $99.65 in charges.

Taking into account that this was done for you prior to the posting of your comments at publicissue.org, and that the sales staff you mentioned were not Meridian One Technologies employees, would you please reconsider your remarks?
