Prepaid Legal (Pre-Paid Legal)

We have a small business that joined Prepaid Legal to take advantage of what Prepaid had to offer, "it seemed simple enough.  A $25.00 monthly fee in exchange for legal representation.  We read their brochure claiming  Prepaid Legal would write two legal letters and make two phone calls all without any additional charges.  Again, it seemed simple enough.  But when it came time for Prepaid to go to work, we found that Prepaid would only write one letter before starting to charge us hourly.  So what happened to my two letters and two phone calls?  Well, when we asked the Prepaid Legal representative, he commented that even though the brochure states this, it is not a legal document.  Wow, he blew us away!

Later after writing a few letters and making a few calls, we were contacted by Prepaid Legal's headquarters stating they would make a refund and sorry about the mix-up.  Here again, at this time, we now guess we needed another attorney involved because out of the $375.00 we paid in, Prepaid would only refund $100.00, even after being contacted by two other Prepaid legal representatives that claimed they would talk with headquarters and arrange a full refund."

"We never received another call or refund!"

Another email regarding Pre-Paid Legal.

I also "Was" a pre-paid legal client but when I called to ask for assistance
they said they couldn't help me with that particular issue. So I hired an
attorney to help me and he charged me less than the one year fees I had been
paying to Pre-Paid. My step-son also "was" a member and when he was falsely
charged with a DUI, pre-paid quoted a fee of $5500.00 and said you will
spend jail time. Of course we hired another lawyer who charged us $1500.00
and he got all charges dropped
