File sharing on the Internet just might cost you more than the music store.
261 people are learning the hard way, "file
sharing" doesn't pay. Remember "file sharing" is
covered under U.S.
copyright laws and their penalties may include damages of $750 to $150,000 for
each song offered illegally on a person's computer. Music isn't the only
type of file that can cost you; a commercial release of Norton's anti-virus has
cost a few companies upto $150,000.00 per illegal copy and they aren't the only
companies taking action.
I for one, read a few of the accused excuses, comments and version of their new found ethics and think they knew what they were doing in the first place, all they're doing now is lying about it. For their sake, let's hope Johnny Cochran still available, they'll need it!
