Former President Bill Clinton blasts President Bush.   05/19/2003

From an Associated Press Article:

Bush - who in the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll had an approval rating of 71 percent, down from 77 percent during the war in Iraq - is drawing criticism from Democrats for his tax cut proposals and support for ''race neutral alternatives'' to affirmative action.

Peter N. from Cleveland writes: "I'm all for fairness for all races, irregardless of color, religion and even nationality, however the method we take to create a fair society for all, may differ.  I'm not sure I believe "race neutral alternatives" is always the method to take, but at the same time, we've seen affirmative action at work, and this has torn our country apart.  So what's the answer?  Maybe we need to keep an eye on racial imbalances through percentages and at the same time be colorblind until a clear and consistent violation exist.  Since Bush was able to get ride of the INS in favor of National Homeland Security Commission, maybe we could start an equal opportunity panel that overseas businesses in question."
